Six Ways To Attract Potential Customers To Your Stand

If you’ve ever been to an exhibition or trade show you will see that some stands attract a large crowd and others hardly anyone at all. Why is that?

The problem is that all the exhibitors are pretty much trading the same thing – so you have to grab the attention of your visitors by means other than just a great product. You need to make your exhibition stand attractive and more importantly, memorable.

Here 6 ways to’ stand out’;

1 – Visual Display

Pretty obvious but often surprisingly overlooked. Get a good exhibition stand designer on the case. A designer will ensure your space is used to its optimum capacity. They will also advise on graphics, carpet & wall colours, furniture placement and product display.

A well designed stand is a more attractive exhibition stand.

2 – Moving Display

Static visual displays are good, but anything that moves will catch someone’s peripheral as they walk past. People like to see something different, particularly in a hall where there is a lot of the same. Anything moving or automated on your satnd will attract attention.

3 – Physical Demonstration

If you are promoting a product that people can use, create a demonstration area. You can easily gather a crowd around as you complete the demonstration. You can even encourage some of the people gathered around to participate in the demonstration to see how easy it is to use your product. This will certainly attract more attention than simple static displays with someone to answer questions. If your budget will stretch – hire a professional spruiker to generate the crowd for you. Human nature being what it is – people will stop to see what all the fuss is about. A crowd will always attract a bigger crowd.

4 – Actual Products or Samples

If possible, have some giveaway samples you can give out to your visitors. Have order forms at the ready too and maybe some colour charts, books or catalogues etc. so even if your customers don’t buy on the spot, they will have something physical to take away with them fro reference.

5 – Special Deals or Treats

Everyone loves a bargain, or even to receive something for free. Appropriate giveaways should always have your company’s name and contact number on it, so that people can call after the exhibition closes. Make your prospective customers feel special by making them think you are doing them a favour and giving them something for nothing.

6 – A Chance to Win

Offering a prize on your exhibition stand is a great way to attract attention. One of the best ways to do this is to have a great big bowl where potential customers place their business cards. Set up a time for the draw when people can come back and gather round your stand for the result. (This in itself will attract attention from other passers by).One of your customers will win the ‘raffle’ prize, and you get to keep all the details for potential follow ups after the show.
